Green Roof Installation Site Supervisor

ROLE OVERVIEW 

As a installation supervisor you will be responsible for the installation and supervision of projects in all departments including Podium Landscaping, Green Roofing & Green Walls. You will contribute to the overall running of sites and continuous improvement of the business, whilst ensuring that the highest professional, health and safety and quality standards are maintained to continually improve the service offered by Sky Garden. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Leading the installation of green roofs, podiums and green walls.

• Be able to understand construction drawings and identifying and resolving key issues on site.

• On site supervision of installation teams to ensure quality and health and safety standards are maintained. 

• Full awareness and understanding of the companies H&S policy and procedures. 

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies. 

• Working with Project Managers to deliver programmes. 

• Communicating material and labour issues to contracts manager and liaising with client site teams.

• Management and accountability of project delivery on site. 

• Detailed progress reporting. 

• Encouraging and developing teamwork both across the install teams at Sky Garden.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 

You will be expected to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality at all times regarding the company and its Clients.

You must also work efficiently and safely at all times in accordance with the appropriate training, company H&S policy and HSE guidelines. 

Your ability to relate well with Clients and Staff and to maintain high professional standards is very important, alongside your ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both in writing and verbally.

You should demonstrate and use initiative to carry out work with minimal supervision, including the skills to prioritise and work to strict deadlines whilst being thorough and paying close attention to detail. This will be reinforced by demonstrating an enthusiastic, flexible and conscientious approach to work. 

Once inducted, you should demonstrate a clear understanding of the Company’s structure, values and procedures. In relation to this, you must advise your line manager immediately of any visits to site by external agencies such as the Health & Safety Executive, Environmental Health Officers etc. 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION 

Qualifications 

• SMSTS/SSSTS 

• CSCS Blue Card or higher 

• All training will be provided 

• Opportunities to gain further qualifications such as NVQ 

Experience/Skills 

• 3+ years full time on site supervision experience.

• Experience in urban greening/landscaping/commercial constriction 

• Experience as a supervisor on large commercial projects.

• Methodical, close attention to details. 

• Good interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to analyse and process technical drawings. 

• Computer literate 

Knowledge and Other Relevant Factors 

• Good knowledge of construction, landscaping and urban greening.

• A high level of self-motivation and willingness to continually develop skills and knowledge. 

• Full valid driving license. 

• Ability to travel across the UK with regular nights away from home.

Schedule: 

• Monday to Friday with weekend overtime available when required.
