Job Description
As a Flight Attendant at Southwest Airlines, youll be part of an enthusiastic team dedicated to maintaining our reputation as one of the most loved and respected service brands in the world. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of all passengers, while embodying the friendly and professional spirit of Southwest.
Responsibilities
– Conduct pre-flight safety checks and demonstrate safety and emergency measures such as the use of oxygen masks, seat belts, and exit doors.
– Offer information and support to passengers, assist with special needs, and resolve issues compassionately.
– Provide food, beverages, and entertainment to passengers, managing sales and maintaining accuracy in transactions.
– Ensure the cleanliness and presentation of cabin interiors.
– Attend and succeed in all required training and continuing education sessions.
Requirements
– Minimum age of 20 years.
– High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
– Pass a rigorous background and drug screening.
– Ability to reach overhead bins and stand for long periods.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
– Fluency in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
– Previous customer service experience.
– Certification in CPR and first aid.
– Experience in a high-stress or emergency role, such as EMS or nursing, can be advantageous.
Educational Qualifications
– High school diploma or equivalent required.
– Further certification or training in hospitality, safety, or customer service is highly regarded, but not mandatory.
