As an Experienced Guest Services Associate – Remote Customer Experience and Animal Welfare Expert, you will play a critical role in delivering a superior experience to our guests, promoting a positive work environment, and driving business success. You will be responsible for providing attentive and genial assistance to all PETCO visitors and their animal companions, educating yourself about pet-friendly offerings and charges in your locality, and promoting a sense of belonging and togetherness among team members.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• Deliver a superior experience to guests by utilizing your expertise and training

• Provide attentive and genial assistance to all PETCO visitors and their animal companions by discerning their desires and sharing product knowledge to suggest the appropriate goods and services that will fulfill those needs
• Educate yourself about the pet-friendly offerings and charges in your locality, such as pet-oriented events, dog runs, cat exhibitions, hotels that cater to animals, and more
• Display a strong affinity towards animal welfare and ensure that all actions in the workplace are ethically sound
• Understand the latest products and services and effectively communicate their unique features and advantages to customers
• Diplomatically and competently handle inquiries about products, services, and rates via telephone
• Promote a sense of belonging and togetherness by hosting team-building activities and initiatives
• Come to our adoption events to discover your future furry companion and promote our Think Adoption First philosophy
• Be knowledgeable about the various competencies of each team member to determine the appropriate partner who can meet the customers' guest experience demands proficiently
• Continuously monitor promotions and exceptional services to stay updated
• Keep your pet safe and happy year-round by staying up to date on their seasonal training, which can include protecting against fleas and ticks, promoting summer safety, and taking advantage of holiday offerings
• Perform any extra duties and distinctive ventures as given
• Examine guest questions and direct them to the Leader on Duty as needed
• *Essential Qualifications**

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 1-2 years of customer service experience in a retail or pet-related environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
• Knowledge of pet care and behavior
• Ability to lift, kneel, or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to manage heavy loads (up to 50 pounds)
• *Preferred Qualifications**

• Experience working in the animal care industry

• Knowledge of the grooming salon program certification, including the PETCO Promise, Pet Stylist Mentor Program, Canine Heritage Breed Test, and Pet First Aid
• Understanding of the range of dog training courses offered at PCC and when they are held
• Understanding of PCC's photography and vaccination agenda
