As a subsidiary of a major technology conglomerate, arenaflex combines cutting‑edge AI, massive data infrastructure, and a passionate community‑first philosophy to deliver an engaging, safe, and innovative experience. Our Trust & Safety (T&S) team is at the heart of this mission, protecting users from harmful behavior while fostering an environment where creativity can thrive without fear.

Position Overview – Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics (Remote)

arenaflex is seeking a visionary leader to head the Global Adversarial Abuse & Analytics function. This senior role blends strategic oversight, advanced analytics, and hands‑on data‑entry expertise to combat malicious activities such as account takeovers, spam, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and emerging threats powered by generative AI. Reporting to the VP of Trust & Safety, you will drive cross‑functional initiatives, shape policy, and build scalable systems that keep our platform safe for millions of daily users—all while working from the comfort of your home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a multi‑year roadmap for adversarial abuse detection, mitigation, and analytics across all product lines.
  • Team Management: Lead a global, 24×7 team of analysts, data engineers, and product partners; recruit, mentor, and develop top talent.
  • Risk Identification & Modeling: Anticipate emerging abuse patterns (e.g., AI‑generated deepfakes, coordinated misinformation) and design proactive detection models.
  • Data‑Driven Insights: Oversee the creation of dashboards, KPI reports, and executive briefings that translate raw data into actionable strategy.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, and Legal teams to embed safety signals into product features and policy frameworks.
  • Rapid Incident Response: Coordinate swift, high‑impact interventions for large‑scale abuse events, including weekend on‑call rotations.
  • Tool & Infrastructure Development: Work with the Product and Engineering teams to build robust data pipelines, labeling tools, and automated remediation systems.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Deliver clear, concise reports to senior leadership, regulators, and external partners on abuse trends and mitigation effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of experimentation, A/B testing, and iterative learning to enhance detection accuracy and reduce false positives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading risk‑mitigation or abuse‑prevention programs at scale.
  • Proven track record of designing and deploying data‑driven solutions for large‑volume, high‑velocity data environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with data‑entry workflows, annotation pipelines, and quality‑control processes.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data sets into strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; comfortable presenting to C‑level executives and external regulators.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekend on‑call rotations, to support a global 24‑hour operation.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Machine Learning, Information Science, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Experience analyzing massive datasets (billions of rows) and uncovering subtle patterns of abuse.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in combating malicious behavior, misinformation, or coordinated inauthentic activity.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, or MATLAB for data extraction, statistical analysis, and model development.
  • Strong business acumen: ability to align technical solutions with broader product and policy objectives.
  • Leadership experience managing distributed, cross‑functional teams in fast‑moving environments.
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and the ethical considerations of large‑scale data analysis.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Rigor: Deep expertise in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to anticipate future abuse vectors and shape long‑term defense strategies.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at building strong relationships with product, engineering, policy, and legal partners.
  • Communication: Clear, concise storytelling with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape, balancing urgent incident response with strategic projects.
  • Ethical Judgment: Commitment to responsible data use, user privacy, and transparent policy enforcement.
