About Mood Health

Mood Health is changing how people access mental health care. We believe care should be personal, human, and accessible—and that every patient deserves a provider who truly fits their needs. That’s why we carefully match each client with the right clinician.

Our mission is simple and powerful: empower people to heal, grow, and thrive. We know mental health is just as essential as physical health, and authentic human connection drives everything we do. Through video visits, our expert clinicians deliver therapy and medication management from the comfort of home.

Role Summary

As the Head of the Associate Clinician Program, you will own the full lifecycle of associate therapists at Mood Health—from onboarding and supervision to performance, development, compliance, and clinical quality.

This is not just a supervision role. You will act as the program architect and operator, responsible for ensuring that associate clinicians are:

  • Delivering safe, high-quality care
  • Fully compliant with regulatory and payer requirements
  • Supported, developed, and retained
  • Integrated into a scalable, high-performing clinical system

You will lead and evolve a best-in-class program that balances clinical excellence, operational rigor, and human-centered support, while partnering closely with Clinical Leadership, Operations, and Recruiting.

What You’ll Do

Program Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end Associate Clinician Program, including structure, standards, and outcomes
  • Define what “great” looks like for associate performance, experience, and progression
  • Build scalable systems to support growth across supervisors, and care models
  • Establish KPIs (quality, compliance, retention, patient outcomes) and continuously improve against them

Clinical Quality, Safety & Oversight

  • Set and enforce clinical quality standards across all associate-delivered care
  • Oversee high-risk and complex cases, ensuring appropriate escalation pathways
  • Partner with Clinical Leadership on risk management, incident review, and quality improvement
  • Ensure consistency in clinical decision-making, documentation, and patient care standards

Supervision Model & Excellence

  • Design and maintain a high-quality, scalable supervision model (not just compliance-based, but developmental)
  • Ensure supervision meets all BBS and state regulatory requirements while also driving clinical growth
  • Build calibration systems so supervision is consistent, rigorous, and aligned across supervisors
  • Step in for coverage, escalation, or supervisor support when needed

Supervisor Leadership & Development

  • Interview, train, and develop a strong bench of supervisors
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management for supervisors
  • Create clear expectations, training pathways, and evaluation frameworks
  • Foster a culture of accountability, support, and clinical excellence

Associate Experience, Growth & Retention

  • Design a structured, supportive associate journey from onboarding → ramp → independence
  • Build programming around clinical skill development, confidence, and career progression
  • Ensure associates feel supported, connected, and set up for success in a remote environment
  • Identify and address early signs of burnout, underperformance, or disengagement

Compliance & Regulatory Excellence

  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • State licensing boards (e.g., BBS requirements)
    • Supervision ratios, documentation, and tracking
    • Payer and audit requirements
  • Own supervision documentation standards and audit readiness
  • Partner with Credentialing and Compliance teams to proactively manage risk

Program Operations & Cross-Functional Integration

  • Partner with:
    • Recruiting (candidate quality, hiring profiles)
    • Operations (workflow, scheduling, productivity)
    • Credentialing (licensure, supervision requirements)
  • Build systems, tools, and workflows that make the program efficient and scalable
  • Standardize processes across onboarding, supervision, documentation, and performance management

Performance Management & Accountability

  • Define and enforce clear expectations for associate clinicians
  • Lead performance management, including coaching plans and improvement pathways
  • Ensure timely intervention when performance, quality, or compliance concerns arise

Who You Are

  • Active, unrestricted clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist, etc.)
  • Meets all requirements to provide clinical supervision (e.g., BBS)
  • 5+ years post-licensure clinical experience
  • 2+ years supervising clinicians
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Clinical quality and risk management
    • Supervision best practices
    • Regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Strong operator: able to build systems, not just provide clinical guidance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience owning or building a clinical program (not just participating in one)
  • Experience in telehealth or distributed care models
  • Proven ability to scale teams while maintaining quality
  • Experience with performance management and clinician development
  • Strong operational and systems-thinking mindset

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • A high-performing, scalable Associate Clinician Program with clear structure and standards
  • Consistent, high-quality care delivered by associates across all markets
  • Strong compliance posture with minimal audit risk
  • Engaged, confident associates who are growing clinically and staying with Mood
  • A well-trained, aligned, and effective supervisor team
  • Clear visibility into program performance through metrics and reporting

Why Join Mood

  • Be part of a mission-driven company redefining mental healthcare
  • Directly shape how the next generation of clinicians is trained and supported
  • High-impact, high-ownership role with visibility across the organization
  • Collaborative, fast-moving environment where your work truly matters
