[Remote] Tech & AI Intern
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sama is a non-profit initiative dedicated to bridging the digital divide by repurposing e-waste to empower underserved women and youth through access to technology. They are looking for a tech-savvy intern to develop and maintain backend services and APIs while supporting their mission to scale operations and impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using FastAPI
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code in Python
- Work with SQL databases for data modeling, queries, and integration
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud environments
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs with React (good to have)
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications
Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI framework
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Experience with React or frontend integration
