Software Engineer, Fleet Response (Backend)
Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. The Fleet Response team accelerates the safe deployment of Waymo's autonomous technology by collaborating on complex situations and developing reliable solutions for autonomous driving.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other teams to help our self-driving vehicles in ambiguous or complex situations
- Prototype and deploy safe, and reliable solutions to real-world challenges in autonomous driving
- Work with our users, the Fleet Response Operations team
- Work on mission-critical systems and infrastructure to support Waymo's fleet
- Have the opportunity to work on the full length and range of the problem (web apps, distributed systems, and data analysis)
Skills
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
- A generalist mindset, willing to learn a breadth of new skills
- Comfortable with C++
- Industry experience with Web Applications backend
- Familiar with distributed systems
- Able to communicate effectively with non-technical collaborators
