Experienced Math Tutor for SSS STEM and Peer Educator – Remote Opportunity for Education Professionals

We are seeking an experienced math tutor to join our team as a Peer Educator for the Student Support Services (SSS) STEM program at Weber State University. As a remote math tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students who are participating in the SSS STEM program, providing individualized support and guidance to help them succeed in their math courses.

Job Summary

As a Math Tutor for SSS STEM and Peer Educator, you will be responsible for providing individualized tutoring and support to WSU students who are participating in the SSS STEM program. You will work with students to help them understand and master math concepts, and provide guidance on how to navigate campus resources, connect with the campus and community, and prepare for graduation and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide individualized tutoring and support to WSU students who are participating in the SSS STEM program

• Work with students to help them understand and master math concepts, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus
• Provide guidance on how to navigate campus resources, including financial aid, registration, and wellness services
• Help students connect with the campus and community, including participating in campus and community programs
• Support students in preparing for graduation and beyond, including resume building, leadership skills, and communication skills
• Work with students to set and achieve academic goals, and provide ongoing support and encouragement
• Collaborate with other tutors and staff members to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and guidance

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field

• Grades of B+ or higher in math courses, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

* Work Study eligibility

• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of academic ability
• Familiarity with campus resources and services
• Experience with peer education and mentoring
