Experienced Mathematics Tutor (Part-Time) – Remote Online Education and Support

Key Responsibilities

As a Mathematics Tutor, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-on-one tutoring and support to students in College Algebra and/or Probability & Statistics courses
• Developing and implementing effective tutoring strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
• Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote learning
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress and tutoring sessions
• Collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure seamless support for students
• Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

• An associate degree or a high school diploma with tutoring/teaching experience
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in mathematics, preferably in a college or university setting
• Excellent communication, collaboration, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of College Algebra and/or Probability & Statistics course content and ability to use modeling techniques when working with students
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Master's degree in mathematics or a related field
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with disabilities and English language learners
• Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
