Responsibilities
As a Special Education Teacher with our partner district, you will be responsible for delivering instruction and collecting data on progress towards students' goals and objectives. You will also support general education staff in the development and implementation of strategies to increase student participation, engagement, and skill development. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs and abilities of students
- Delivering instruction and collecting data on progress towards students' goals and objectives
- Collaborating with general education staff to develop and implement strategies to increase student participation, engagement, and skill development
- Providing support and accommodations to students with diverse needs, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communicating regularly with parents and guardians
- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education
Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Active Ohio License for Special Education
- Previous school-based virtual experience
- 2-3 reference checks prior to start
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and positive attitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Schedule
As a remote Special Education Teacher with our partner district, you will be required to work a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. Your start and end dates will be ASAP, with a contract duration of approximately 10 months (August 2024 to May 2025). Your caseload will consist of students in grades K-8, with more details shared during the interview process.
