Job Summary We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data Foundations Platform and Governance Engineering team. This team spans the technology platforms within the Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product and Technology group. The role of this Data Engineer will focus on privacy solutions and data subject rights automation, working cross-functionally with analytics, data architecture, legal and security partners to build scalable solutions to solve complex privacy related challenges. This role requires acute attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, collaboration and understanding of large-scale cloud data platform infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and lead the build out of data engineering products.
• Assist in developing monitoring to alert for operational errors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Respond to legal inquiries for consumer data.
• Supports the maintenance of data protection solutions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience required
• 3+ years of enterprise experience with data and platforms including: Provisioning/Data Capture, Big Data, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
• Experience and comfort solving problems in an ambiguous environment where there is constant change.
• Ability to think logically, communicate clearly, and be well organized.
• Technologies such as OneTrust, Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, DynamoDB, Redis, Kubernetes, Kinesis, REST APIs, Terraform, Go
• SQL, Python, Scala, other computer software languages

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the technology industry and knowledge of data and product a plus
• Knowledge of agile SDLC methodologies
• Experience with documentation creation / maintenance
• Familiarity with privacy regulations and/or data subject rights

#DISNEYTECH The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $114,900 - $154,100 per year and in New York, NY is $120,300 - $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
