Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is a dynamic organization that's redefining the way people experience entertainment and sports. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Content Distribution Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our media business.

About the Role:

As a Senior Content Distribution Engineer, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Disney Distribution Mesh, actively managing incidents, and performing root cause analysis. You'll also work closely with our operations and engineering organizations to solve distribution issues and build frameworks for Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Disney Distribution Mesh
• Actively manage incidents, communicating across distribution teams, and performing root cause analysis
• Review performance metrics across our caching infrastructure for improvements (in concert with operations and performance management teams)
• Identify areas for tuning and adjustment
• Work to solve distribution issues in concert with our operations and engineering organizations
• Build and execute frameworks for Incident, Problem, and Change Management based on ITIL standards
• Provide tier-2 on-call evaluation, escalation, and support

Requirements:

• BS/BA required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing caching solutions, preferably in a Content Distribution Network environment
• Experience in Content Distribution Network operations environments
• Expert knowledge of CDN Provider architectures and configurations
• Understanding of streaming video protocols (HLS) and how it interacts with caching
• Ability to perform Network Troubleshooting
• Knowledge of video players and impact on cache logic
• Knowledge of following: HTTP/DNS/Internet Architecture, Caching (Varnish), Web Serving (NGINX, HAProxy), Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP), Scripting Languages (Python, et al), Security Protocols (SSL Certificates, TLS), Configuration Management (Ansible, AWX)
• Effective communication, written and verbal
• Passion for troubleshooting and debugging

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary, bonus, and/or long-term incentive units, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. The hiring range for this position is $109,500 to $153,500 per year, depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
