Crisis workers serve as the residential counselors for a specified number of residents, conducting intakes and discharges for the program. Crisis workers will work with clients on topics including personal hygiene and self-care skills, money management and budgeting, symptom management, relapse prevention, healthy eating, use of public transportation and transporting, problem solving and conflict resolution, and other interventions as necessary, running therapeutic groups to further enhance life skills in these areas. The crisis worker will make referrals for clients, monitor and distribute medication, maintain unit facility as required, and complete routine paperwork to ensure the program meets the standards.

Job Description

I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Provides support and guidance to youth and families experiencing crisis. 2. Assists in the development of risk management/safety plan. 3. Refers youth and families to support services. 4. Acts as a bridge between families, agencies and community supports. 5. Assures families full involvement in crisis intervention services including team’s adherence to “family voice and choice”. 6. Actively participates in the multi-disciplinary team meetings and case discussions. 7. Recognizes and seeks consultations as needed. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work. 2. Must be able to pass a CORI background check. 3. Current valid US-issued driver's license and driving is a requirement. Preferred: N/A Experience/Skills: Required: 1. One year of psychology, counseling, social work, or related experience.
