The Role We are looking for a Veterinary Admissions Consultant with prior experience on a veterinary school admissions committee and a passion for mentoring future veterinarians! In this role, you'll work one-on-one with students to strengthen their applications, boost their confidence, and guide them through each step of the admissions process. You'll provide personalized support, track academic progress, and help students present their best selves as they work toward acceptance to their dream veterinary schools. This role can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities

• Work with prospective veterinary school candidates, helping them identify opportunities to enhance their profiles and draft compelling application materials
• Manage relationships with applicants and families while providing strategic and tactical guidance on school selection, personal statements, CVs, recommendations, interviews, and the overall veterinary school application process
• Identify optimal veterinary schools and programs for individual students; provide detailed feedback and guidance on their research into specific schools, ensuring alignment with the student's background, goals, and specialty interests
• Support students with project planning, helping them create and adhere to effective timelines through Excel-based trackers or other tools
• Stay up-to-date on the veterinary school application process, including VMCAS (Veterinary Medical College Application Service) requirements, GRE preparation, and program-specific criteria, to advise prospective and existing clients on appropriate school selection and application strategies

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th year veterinary student, or graduate of a top U.S. veterinary school
• Experience mentoring students through the veterinary school application process; admissions committee or selection board experience preferred but not required
• Passion for mentoring and supporting students
• Strong planning and organizational skills to manage complex application timelines
• Excellent English reading, writing, and editing skills for impactful materials
• Clear verbal communication skills to provide effective feedback
• Project management skills to keep students on track during the application process
