And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Key job responsibilities The Center for Infrastructure Software and Controls drives the development, execution and continuous improvement of critical solutions within the Amazon Data Center Network around the world. Our environment is global and complex with a variety of software and systems, including industrial machines and protocols. We are constantly innovating on behalf of the customer through the development of custom hardware and software technology solutions.We are seeking an SDE, capable of developing next-gen software platforms and automation solutions. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team and outside partners to develop and assist with critical data center technology. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.This individual will be involved with the development and assistance of a globally deployed data center technology solution. The ideal candidate will enjoy working at multiple layers of the stack from development of low level embedded systems, to developing cloud based solutions to interface with and manage fleets of real world data center devices.A day in the life This individual will be responsible for the development and deployment of a complex set of automation control systems and supporting infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple layers of the automation stack, including embedded PLC and DCS firmware, SCADA and HMI user interfaces, back-end control system software, and cloud-based monitoring and analytics platforms. A strong background in industrial control systems, control theory, and system integration is required.This role may involve regular travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and remote operations centers, up to 30% of the time, in order to oversee control system deployments, commissioning, and support. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including controls engineers, IT/OT specialists, and operations personnel, will be essential.About the team AWS values diverse experiences.
