Job Details GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sales Floor Assistant acts as a point of contact for our customers. The duties of the Sales Floor Assistant include assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets. DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: ? Ensure superb customer service by greeting and aiding customers with a helpful attitude. ? Engage with the cash register and scanner to itemize and sum up the total purchase amount for the customer, handle payments, provide accurate change, pack the goods, and offer support in selecting merchandise if necessary. ? Observe the standard operating procedures for company merchandise; unpackage goods, manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and arrange eye-catching product showcases. ? Duties entail cleaning the store thoroughly, including trash removal, dusting surfaces, mopping floors, sanitizing the restroom and receiving room, and participating in the organization of outdoor displays.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: ? The importance of being skilled in interpersonal and oral communication cannot be overstated. ? Knowing the ins and outs of safety measures and rules. ? Competence in understanding and following planograms and recommendations for product presentation. ? Proficiency in essential cash handling procedures. ? Basic mathematical skills. ? Competence in operating a cash register system efficiently. ? Skill in organizing merchandise for retail. WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION: ? Having a high school diploma or a comparable credential is advantageous. WORKING CONDITIONS: ? Consistent bouts of walking and standing. ? Regularly engaging in bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks while operating the checkout station, arranging merchandise, and unloading trucks; this may also involve the need to push and/or pull rolltainers for merchandise stocking. ? Engaging with merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, and merchandise containers is a frequent requirement, including the use of two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers. ? Frequent and precise lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional handling of items weighing up to 55 pounds. ? Intermittent climbing to heights not exceeding six feet, employing a step ladder. ? An environment that is swift-paced with a moderate level of surrounding sound. ? Intermittent interaction with external atmospheric conditions.
