Locomotive Mechanic

As a Locomotive Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our locomotives to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods across the country. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on locomotives, including but not limited to engine, transmission, brake, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with locomotives. Utilize various tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance. Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed. Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and equipment advancements. Monitor and maintain inventory of parts and supplies. Ensure all work meets company and regulatory standards. Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to strict deadlines and work efficiently to minimize downtime. Assist in troubleshooting and repairing locomotive breakdowns in the field. Provide guidance and support to less experienced mechanics. Attend safety meetings and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing the company. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including climbing, bending, and working in tight spaces. Uphold company values and promote a positive and collaborative work culture.
