About the position The Claim Specialist - Auto Injury position at State Farm involves handling bodily injury and uninsured/underinsured claims, as well as property damage claims related to injuries. This role is customer-facing and requires in-person assignments for claims handling, including legal appearances. The position emphasizes the use of analytics to enhance skills and improve customer service, allowing claim handlers to take ownership of the customer experience and support policyholders effectively. Responsibilities ? Reviewing and analyzing injury claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages , ? Conducting thorough investigations by gathering relevant information, interviewing involved parties, and reviewing supporting documentation , ? Evaluating medical records, police reports, and other related documents to assess the extent of injuries and liability , ? Negotiating settlements with claimants, ensuring fair compensation is provided within policy limits , ? Documenting all claim activities, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports as required , ? Collaborating with internal teams, including legal, medical, and risk assessment, to ensure proper claim handling , ? Handling difficult and emotional investigations which may include traumatic injury and loss of life , ? Managing lawsuits and/or demands as well as working with Attorneys Requirements ? Bachelor's Degree Preferred , ? Claim handling experience in bodily injury and property damage liability claims , ? Experience with uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage claims , ? Knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, statutes, and insurance regulations , ? Litigation experience , ? Strong written and verbal communication skills , ? Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills , ? Ability to multi-task across technical platforms , ? Strong organizational and time management skills , ? Effective negotiation skills , ? Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and able to work independently , ?
