Apparel Artist

Position Summary This position is responsible for art and design of assorted softline and hardline goods including but not limited to graphic apparel, fashion items, headwear, drinkware, blankets/towels and other accessories. Ideal candidate will have experience creating on-trend apparel and accessory collections. Candidates will need to work independently and collaboratively with style guides provided by clients as well as self art and design skills. Candidates will also create production files of approved concepts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: ? Designing and creating merchandise comps. ? Planning and execution of on-trend apparel and accessory collection groups. ? Custom illustration. ? Revisions. ? Creating detailed spec files of approved apparel, accessories, drinkware, etc for manufacturing. Proofreading spec files for accuracy. Identifying and correcting concerns with typography, pantones, accuracy to the work order, etc. ? Maintaining organization of assets and files. ? Research of current fashion trends and emerging production capabilities. ? Collaborative work with director and other art department members. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) ? Mastery of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. ? 4+ years experience within an art department or similar work environment. ? Exceptional art and design portfolio. ? Screenprinting/Separation experience is a plus. ? Strong organization, oral and written communication skills. ? Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines. ? Collaborative Attitude. No applications will be considered without a robust portfolio.
