Your Responsibilities As a PTS - Software Engineer for JD ISG located in Champaign, IL, you will: Participate in the design, development, and deployment of digital software products Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code Engage in Agile team activities: stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives This position is not available to students on immigration visas What Skills You Need Pursuing a degree in any of the following (undergraduate or graduate): Computer Science Computer Engineering Data Science Graduation date of spring 2026 or after 1 or more years of experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript, Java 1 or more years of experience working with REST APIs 1 or more years of experience working with databases, SQL 1 or more years of experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git) Strong communication, high creativity, and excellent problem-solving skills Excellent ability to learn and work on a team GPA equal or higher than 2.8 Able to work (16-20 hours/week) during the academic year Able to work (30-40 hours/week) during the summer semester What Makes You Standout Experience with React.JS, Next.js Experience and passion for working with generative AI tools Experience with cloud hosting (e.g., AWS, Azure) Experience with containerization and DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD) Basic understanding of Agile software development methodologies Ability to read, understand, and explain documentation and research papers Familiarity with testing frameworks and practices Understanding of software security principles At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
