The work location for this position is in Abilene, TX. Lineman D2 is an entry level to line work in the air. In this role you will build and maintain energized utility facilities up to 600 volts. Experience required is first year second, six months.

What You'll Do

• Work on utility poles and fixtures up to 600 volts
• Frame transformer and install secondary and/or service
• Adhere to safety performance requirements
• Introduction in meter work, safety in meter work, framing and guying poles, material handling bucket trucks and proper cover procedures
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

• Minimum 1.5 years’ experience in the electrical powerline industry
• All the knowledge, skills and abilities required for Lineman D1
• Understand basic electricity, MAD, proper PPE, IPP and how to install
• Pass evaluation of competency prior to promotion and activity in the Apprenticeship Training Program

Work Environment

• Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
