Lead Systems Analyst, Oracle

Overview

This position is with a large Oil and Energy client. This company is has recently undergone a large acquisition transition and leaves a large area of growth opportunities. They also offer top of the market benefits and this position is bonus eligible. This position will serve as the Technical Supervisor over the Oracle ERP and P2 Enterprise Upstream and Land applications. This role will report to the Manager of Technical Services to ensure separation from the Application Team. This role will oversee all aspects of application management activities and will provide technical leadership in support of the business and project related activities. Some of the responsibilities are as follows:

  • Plan and schedule the installation and testing of new products and improvements to current systems, including software updates and patches.
  • Manage and implement standards.
  • Ensure separation of applications from business and upstream apps.
  • Oversee all aspects of security design, performance tuning, system / interface monitoring, backup and recovery
  • Liaises with software suppliers and other third parties as required to provide timely and cost-effective customer support
  • Work with developers, system and network administrators to support and improve system performance and stability
  • Perform quality assurance & design review functions for all projects where the technology will be utilized.
  • Establishes and sustains close working relationships with business customers in delivery of IT services and support.
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization to ensure project success and user needs are identified and met.
  • Assures technical support for day-to-day issues and requests – providing resolution and escalating as necessary.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the IS team to provide technical application support for the portfolio of business applications.
  • Takes ownership of support issues, utilizing other internal/external expertise as required
  • Establishes project plans with clients and IT resources, tracks and reports status, proactively manages overall project expectations
  • Ensures all tasks are managed to a successful conclusion and communicated to the customer
  • Keeps management and stakeholders informed of project progress, budget and resource status and other key project metrics on a regular basis.
  • Support Oracle EBS / P2 Enterprise Upstream system implementations, enhancements and upgrades.
  • Monitor the systems development activities as they relate to the Oracle EBS / P2 Enterprise Upstream applications development effort

Skill Requirements

  • College Degree preferable in Information Systems
  • 10 plus years of Oil and Gas information technology
  • Extensive experience in Oracle Enterprise Business Suite and P2 Applications
  • System Administration
  • Unix / Linux Operating Systems
  • Working Knowledge of Database Administration
  • Experience in P2 system implementations & upgrades, in an Oracle environment a plus
  • Experience in Oracle Business Intelligence, Spotfire and data warehouses
  • Proven organization, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effectively manage time constraints and deadlines.
