Position Overview

SingleStore is looking for a highly skilled Analytics Engineer to join our Product team. This is an opportunity to be a key contributor in shaping the strategic direction of our real-time database platform, impacting mission-critical workloads across industries.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in uncovering insights that fuel product innovation, enhance customer experiences, and inform business strategy. You will have the opportunity to work on large-scale data sets within one of the fastest distributed data platforms. By applying your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition, you will directly support SingleStore’s growth by identifying trends, improving efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making.

This position requires close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance teams to tackle unique business challenges and develop scalable, cloud-based analytics solutions. We are looking for a self-starter, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to drive meaningful impact.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain performant data pipelines for collecting, processing, and transforming data from various sources into a structured format
  • Contribute to AI research initiatives and play a key role in validating model performance and accuracy to drive cutting-edge solutions
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Translate complex data into compelling insights that drive strategic business and product decisions
  • Provide clean data sets and model data in a way that empowers end users to self serve their analytics needs
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, product adoption, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data processing, analytics, and reporting to ensure efficient and responsive user experiences
  • Ability to scale analytics capabilities of the team from description to prescriptive using ML/AI
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver effective analytics and reporting solutions
  • Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code (e.g. version control, testing, continuous integration)
  • Build credibility as a trusted data expert by providing clear, actionable recommendations backed by rigorous analysis
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of work experience in analytics and data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
  • Experience building & maintaining data pipeline processes using tools like Airflow, SQL Tasks & Stored Procedures
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (Grafana, Superset, Tableau, Metabase, Etc) creating reports and dashboards, showcasing your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Experience or coursework in AI/ML concepts
  • Basic understanding of fundamental Large Language Model (LLM) concepts, including fine-tuning and validation processes.
