Full Stack Software Engineer

SlideSpeak is an AI startup transforming how businesses create presentations. Since our launch 8 months ago, users have uploaded over 2 million files—our growth has been staggering 🚀. We're now expanding our team to enhance and scale our RAG-based AI presentation platform.

Role Overview

We're looking for a talented Mid to Senior Software Engineer who thrives on high-level architecture, strategic planning, and leading critical projects from conception to deployment. You'll be a key decision-maker, responsible for shaping the architecture, guiding technical strategy, and mentoring team members to build our innovative AI-driven presentation editor.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural planning and high-level technical strategy across the full stack.

• Design, build, and scale robust backend systems using Python, FastAPI, and advanced database frameworks.

• Oversee frontend development with NextJS, React, and TypeScript, ensuring scalability and optimal performance.

• Guide development of cutting-edge LLM and ML services for generating creative content (images, infographics, icons, text).

• Establish and enhance infrastructure with microservices architecture on GCP, AWS, and Azure.

• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive engineering best practices.

• Participate actively in high-level product planning, roadmapping, technical decision-making and project management.

Skills and Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as a Software Engineer with demonstrated leadership in architecture and planning.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (ideally FastAPI or similar).

• Strong expertise in React/NextJS and TypeScript.

• Strong experience maintaining and scaling larger codebases through methodologies like TDD or similar

• Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS, Azure) and infrastructure automation.

• Proven ability to design and implement scalable, production-grade systems.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience working in a startup environment

• Experience with AI frameworks (LangChain, Llama Index, RAG-based systems).

• Knowledge of vector databases (PGVector), PostgreSQL optimization.

• Familiarity with SVG and 2D graphics software development.
