About the position The DEI Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing recruiting events that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within Merck. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of DEI principles, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to ensure successful event execution. The DEI Events Coordinator will utilize Phenom People to enhance event management and participant engagement, ensuring that all events align with the company's DEI goals. In this position, the coordinator will design, plan, and manage DEI events, workshops, and seminars from inception to completion. This includes setting objectives, creating timelines, managing budgets, and coordinating logistics. The role also involves partnering with HR and Talent Acquisition, as well as collaborating with stakeholders across different divisions within Merck to align on DEI events. The coordinator will develop promotional materials and communication strategies to increase event participation and engagement, utilizing various platforms and channels to effectively reach target audiences. Additionally, the DEI Events Coordinator will gather feedback and analyze data from the events using Phenom People analytics. They will prepare reports and make recommendations for future improvements based on the data collected. This position is crucial in fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring that Merck's DEI initiatives are effectively communicated and executed through engaging events. Responsibilities • Design, plan, and manage DEI events, workshops, and seminars from inception to completion. , • Set objectives, create timelines, manage budgets, and coordinate logistics for events. , • Utilize Phenom People to manage event registrations, track participant engagement, and analyze event metrics. , • Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and stakeholders across different divisions to align on DEI events. , • Develop promotional materials and communication strategies to increase event participation and engagement. , • Gather feedback and analyze data from events using Phenom People analytics. , • Prepare reports and make recommendations for future improvements. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Human Resources, or a related field. , • 2+ years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably in a DEI or pharmaceutical industry. , • Experience with Phenom People or similar event management and HR software. , • Strong knowledge of DEI principles and practices. , • Excellent organization and multitasking skills. , • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Nice-to-haves • Certification in event planning or project management. , • Familiarity with social media and digital marketing strategies. , • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar regulated industry. , • Familiarity with recruiting events (i.e., NSBE, SHPE, SACNAS, and Prospanica).
