About the position The Chapter Next Returnship at Lockheed Martin is designed for individuals who have taken a career hiatus and are looking to re-enter the workforce. This 12-16 week paid returnship offers participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as a Technical Cost Analyst, focusing on technical cost management to enhance revenue and profit growth. Participants will receive training, professional development, and mentoring while working on diverse projects in a fully virtual environment. Responsibilities • Manage relationships with colleagues while working on multiple projects. , • Gather, manipulate, and record data using various digital systems. , • Track down necessary data by networking and building relationships. , • Build and document financial models to forecast costs for products. , • Write documentation and create presentations explaining models and processes. , • Make cost models accessible by developing prototypes of web interfaces. , • Perform other duties as needed to support team efforts. Requirements • Prior experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials, Aerospace Engineering, Procurement, Production Operations, Data Analytics, or similar fields. , • Experience with cost modeling software like SEER or TruePlanning. , • Familiarity with CAD software such as Creo or Catia and reading engineering drawings. , • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. , • Experience in data analysis using tools like Excel, MATLAB, or Tableau. Nice-to-haves • Advanced engineering or systems thinking skills. , • Statistical capability and experience with descriptive statistics. , • Familiarity with accounting principles and overhead allocation. , • Experience in information management and user interface design. , • Interest in qualitative data analysis.
