This full-time position involves working in a specialized Emotional-Sensory-Communication (ESC) classroom with Kindergarten and 1st-grade students. The students have the cognitive ability to succeed academically but require support in staying on task and developing social-emotional skills. You will collaborate with a paraprofessional, behavior consultants, occupational therapists, and other specialists who provide push-in support throughout the week. Key Responsibilities: Lead a self-contained classroom with 10 students, providing individualized instruction to support academic and social-emotional development. Implement and adapt lesson plans that align with each student's academic abilities and emotional-sensory needs. Collaborate with a paraprofessional, behavior consultants, occupational therapists, and other specialists who provide additional classroom support. Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to help students meet their IEP goals. Create a structured and supportive learning environment that helps students develop both academically and socially. Qualifications: Licensure: Must hold a valid Special Education Teaching License in the state of Indiana. Experience working with students on the autism spectrum, particularly in an ESC or similar program, is preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals and support staff.
