Senior UX Visual Designer

About the position We're looking for a Senior Visual Designer with a strong UX and visual design background to imagine the next generation of interactive learning experiences for higher education and professional learners. You'll partner closely with content, product, and engineering teams and be responsible for improving the current experience and will help craft a vision for what learning can become. You will be challenged in an organization that values vision, execution, and persistence. You will take ownership of our product by solving complex problems in simple, elegant ways. Product Designers at Pearson are embedded within product teams that are deeply collaborative, and each member is directly responsible for the team's success. In this role, you will define and create the visual and interactive design for groundbreaking learning experiences. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams throughout the product development process, ensuring that user needs are understood and advocated for. You will define key metrics to track success and business impact, maintaining clear team alignment around goals and priorities. Your approach to open-ended problem spaces will be vigorous and clear, thinking holistically about the user journey and product ecosystem. You will guide user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency, and be data-driven to iteratively improve the experience. Additionally, you will design for AI-driven teaching and learning experiences, contributing to the innovative direction of our products. Responsibilities • Define and create the visual and interactive design for groundbreaking learning experiences , • Collaborate with product and engineering teams throughout the product development process , • Understand and advocate for user needs , • Define key metrics to track success and business impact , • Maintain clear team alignment around goals and priorities , • Approach an open-ended problem space with vigor and clarity , • Think holistically about the user journey and product ecosystem , • Guide user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency , • Be data-driven and iteratively improve the experience , • Design for AI-driven teaching and learning experiences Requirements • 7+ years product design experience with an online portfolio of relevant design work , • Skilled in design at the detail and systems level , • Confident communicator who can clearly articulate your process, approach, and rationale to others , • Experience working in a collaborative team comprised of other designers, content strategists, product managers, and developers , • Prior experience defining and implementing user research efforts , • Experience designing for AI-driven experiences including LLMs , • Awareness of design trends across web and mobile devices , • Experience working with design systems , • Experience working in an Agile, lean UX, and mobile first environment , • Understanding the relationship of visual, interaction, and content disciplines , • Expert proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and/or Adobe Creative Suite , • Bachelor's or master's degree in design and/or HCI related field Nice-to-haves • Design for conversational interfaces , • Experience with educational content Benefits • Annual incentive program , • Health insurance , • 401k plan , • Flexible scheduling , • Professional development opportunities Apply Job!
