Legal Transcriptionist - Remote Opportunity Join VIQ Solutions, a pioneer in delivering innovative transcription services to legal and judicial sectors as they embrace technology-driven workflows. We are actively seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates with robust expertise in transcribing depositions and hearings. This position offers the flexibility of being 100% remote, allowing Independent Contractors to manage their schedules effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for creating verbatim transcripts from audio recordings of depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. It is essential to exhibit meticulous attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and exceptional grammar proficiency. You will process audio files in strict accordance with established style guides, ensuring accuracy and quality in every transcript. Key Responsibilities • Accurately transcribe depositions, hearings, and various judicial proceedings. • Process audio recordings while adhering to specific style guides. • Maintain a high level of detail and precision in transcription work. • Collaborate remotely with our supportive in-office team as needed. Required Skills • Proven experience in court reporting, legal transcription, or scoping. • Exceptional listening and comprehension abilities. • Strong adherence to deadlines and client-specific guidelines. • Outstanding literacy skills, including spelling and grammar. • Proficient typing speed and accuracy. • Capacity to process sensitive audio/text content. • Familiarity with legal terminology is essential. • Must be able to pass a background check. Qualifications • Significant experience in legal transcription is required. • Relevant training or coursework in legal transcription or court reporting is preferred. • Court reporting students are encouraged to apply.
