Part-time Online Educator - North Carolina
Are you a passionate educator looking for part-time, remote work that supports children's literacy? Hoot Reading is seeking dedicated educators to help young students enhance their reading skills in a supportive online environment, following the Science of Reading pedagogy. Availability: We are looking for educators available between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM CT, Monday to Friday. Preference will be given to those who can consistently commit to 5 days per week with consistent time slots open for ease of student/teacher matching. Please note, this is a part-time role with up to 25 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Deliver structured literacy instruction following the Science of Reading method. Maintain accurate records and manage your schedule through our web-based platform. Build trusting relationships with students and parents/schools. Adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs. Track and monitor student progress diligently. Be punctual for all tutoring sessions and maintain excellent attendance. Meet performance standards for all responsibilities related to your role (eg. attendance, instruction,data recording etc), representing the Hoot with the utmost professionalism. We encourage teachers to maintain consistent availability for tutoring sessions. While this role offers flexibility, regular and reliable engagement is essential for providing the stability our students benefit from, as it positively influences their learning outcomes and progress. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Education or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of leading elementary classroom experience (Kindergarten to Grade 6). Strong understanding of key concepts such as phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency and comprehension. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly encouraged. Reliable technology (laptop, headset, internet) and a quiet workspace. Technical requirements can be Ability to pass background checks (cost covered).
