About The Role As a Remote Honors ELA Teacher, you'll be responsible for: Teaching Honors-Level ELA: Create and deliver engaging lessons for 5th to 10th grade students, focusing on reading, grammar, spelling, and writing. Developing Curriculum: Design and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to student needs, using our digital platform. We'll cover any expenses related to curriculum creation. Using Innovative Instructional Strategies: Implement various teaching methods such as inquiry, lecture, and discovery to enhance learning experiences. Fostering Student Growth: Evaluate students' academic and social development, keep accurate records, and prepare progress reports. Maintaining Engagement: Keep students motivated and on task in a remote learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education required; Master's or PhD preferred. Certification: US State Teaching License for Jr. High or High School Education; ELA Endorsement is a plus. Experience: At least 5 years of teaching Honors-level Language Arts in Jr. High or High School. (Note: Teaching Assistant and ESL experience not included.) Skills: Advanced writing and grammar skills, comfort with technology and new software, and a professional home setup for remote teaching. Bonus: Knowledge of Latin is a plus but not required. Additional Details Class Sizes: Smaller than traditional schools, allowing for more personalized instruction.
