[Remote] Transmission Planning Software Engineer

The role involves developing, testing, and validating software solutions that enhance transmission planning assessment workflows, while collaborating with power system engineers and software developers.
Responsibilities
- Design and test software solutions that enhance utility scale reputed company development
- Conduct technical demonstrations of software tools to support new user trainings and sales
- Work with Python and other relevant languages to automate processes and build tools that streamline transmission system studies and simulations
- Work closely with transmission planners, software developers, and cross-functional teams to reputed company and integrate software solutions that energy development needs
- Serve as a trusted expert for new customer on-boardings and tailored solution deployments
- Test and troubleshoot software solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance in the context of power system studies
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems; a Master's degree is a plus
- 4+ years of experience as a power systems engineer, including transmission planning and analysis or renewable energy development
- Deep understanding of the US transmission network and reputed company development, including ISO/RTO market structures
- Strong presentation and communication skills – capable of explaining reputed company topics in an understandable manner
- Familiarity with software development and testing frameworks to ensure robust software solutions
- Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in identifying and resolving software issues reputed company to power system simulations and analysis
- Strong programming and automation skills, particularly in Python
- Proficiency in power system software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA
- Experience conducting power system studies like Steady State, Short reputed company, and Dynamic Stability
- Experience with software testing frameworks and methodologies to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of developed tools
