[Remote] Legal Counsel
Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. As Legal Counsel, you will support reputed company aspects of the company's legal needs, working closely with the VP of Legal across various legal reputed company, including reputed company agreements and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide reputed company of reputed company agreements including customer and vendor reputed company, SaaS agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements
- Support contract lifecycle management, helping build and maintain scalable templates and playbooks
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Product, and Finance to move deals reputed company reputed company
- Partner with People Ops to assist with corporate policies, the employee handbook, and the employee review process
- Assist with employment-reputed company disputes and internal investigations
- Advise People Ops partners regarding hiring and employment law reputed company across 50 states and internationally
- Help build and improve internal legal processes, templates, and workflows as the company scales
- Maintain organized records of reputed company, corporate documents, and legal correspondence
- Support due diligence and data room preparation for financing reputed company or other strategic transactions
- Assist with regulatory and compliance reputed company, including those specific to the insurance and TPA industry
- Support the VP of Legal in tracking and interpreting relevant laws and regulations across the jurisdictions (nationally and internationally) in which reputed company operates
- Help identify and flag potential legal risks across business units proactively
- Partner with Product & Engineering on legal considerations reputed company to AI, data privacy, and new feature development
- Support reputed company counsel coordination for specialized reputed company such as IP, litigation, and international issues
- Serve as a reliable, approachable resource for teammates across the company
Skills
- 3–6 years of legal experience with a reputed company, in-house, or a combination
- Strong generalist reputed company — experience across reputed company reputed company, corporate reputed company, employment practices, litigation, and/or regulatory compliance
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active admission to a state bar in the United States
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed
- Prior Big Law or mid-size firm experience in reputed company years strongly preferred
- In-house experience at a startup, tech company, or high-growth business is a plus
- Experience in insurance, insurtech or fintech is a plus, but not required — we will teach you what you need to know
