To learn more about our commitment to equity, click here: https://foodliteracyproject.org/about/mission-vision/ The Opportunity The Food Literacy Project is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven Advancement Manager who is passionate about amplifying youth voices, strengthening community connections, and advancing equitable food systems. With guidance from the Executive Director, the Advancement Manager will lead the organization’s communications, engagement, and fundraising efforts, elevating visibility to support long-term sustainability and growth. This role operates from an abundance mindset, using storytelling, digital engagement, and data-informed strategies to deepen impact and inspire investment in the mission. Working collaboratively across programs, events, and development operations, the Advancement Manager will oversee communications and marketing initiatives, manage donor relations and fundraising systems, coordinate impactful events, and support team development—ensuring alignment between organizational advancement goals and the transformative youth programming at the heart of the Food Literacy Project. Job Responsibilities Communications & Marketing

  • Oversees development of monthly e-newsletters, communications content and printed materials (ie. Flyers, signage, donor brochures), and organizational messaging calendar to promote programming and mission.
  • Oversees management of the social media calendar and collaborates on digital storytelling with youth
  • Leads creative strategy and implementation of targeted fundraising campaigns (e.g., Giving Tuesday, Give for Good Louisville)
  • Ensures gathering of stories, photos, and testimonials from participants, staff, board,volunteers, and donors to support engagement and fundraising efforts

Donor Relations & Development Operations

  • Manages donor database including gift entry, donor record maintenance, and reporting
  • Ensures appropriate donor acknowledgment, including timely thank-you letters and recognition materials
  • Ensures donor communications are consistent, personalized, and aligned with organizational voice and strategy
  • Assists with grant writing, research, and reporting as needed
  • Assists with donor stewardship as needed

Events & Community Engagement

  • Leads all aspects of event coordination and logistics for fundraising events (including concept design, vendor/catering coordination, committee leadership, and onsite implementation)
  • Provide structure, support, and accountability to Community Engagement Coordinator, ensuring alignment of volunteer program with strategic goals
  • Program Support & Team Development
  • Provides occasional support for hands-on youth and educational programs at the farm or partner sites
  • Supervises Community Engagement Coordinator and student interns, with potential for expanded supervisory responsibilities as the team grows
  • Collaborates across the team to ensure advancement goals align with programmatic needs and impact
  • Complete other job duties as assigned, including administrative tasks associated with managing a small nonprofit.
