[Remote] 1st Party Debt Collection Specialist

The 1st Party Debt Collection Specialist role focuses on collecting outstanding balances from residents while ensuring compliance with laws and maintaining accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Make 50 to 100 outbound calls daily to former residents with outstanding balances
- Collect payments while meeting budget quotas and recovery goals
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and document actions for follow-up
- Review and validate disputed charges, conducting research to resolve inconsistencies
- Maintain accuracy of resident personal and confidential information in compliance with laws
- Address and resolve charge disputes to maintain positive client relationships
- Prepare accurate and compliant documentation for internal and external use
- Collaborate with internal teams and communities to ensure smooth operations
- Complete department-specific projects and tasks according to policies and performance standards
- Maintain accurate and timely reports on former resident accounts aligned with goals
Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in first-party debt collections, preferably in property management, or third-party debt collections in property management
- Experience in call center environments with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven success and reliability in remote work or work-from-home settings
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, property management software (Yardi or One Site), and database management
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy, tact, discretion, and privacy
