Prior Authorization Coordinator - Remote But Must Live In Northern California (Location Specific)

Description The authorization coordinator position is responsible for verifying patient eligibility, coordinating benefits, ensuring insurance coverage, and determining if prior authorization is needed for orders. If required, obtain authorization for tests, therapies, or referrals to specialists and document in the patient electronic medical record. Facilitate responses to patient and provider inquiries regarding authorizations and referrals within turnaround standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Monitor and resolve referral/authorization orders in Epic in a timely manner.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of referrals, including CPT, ICD, HCPCS codes, provider, and place of service.
  • Verify insurance acceptance by the Foundation for all incoming referrals.
  • Obtain additional medical information from providers or office staff as necessary.
  • Process referrals according to standard work and health plan requirements.
  • Research denials and submit for retro authorizations.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in each referral.
  • Proactively research and resolve work-related issues.

Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, employee assistance, PTO, and more, subject to eligibility and plan specifics.
