Are you a dedicated customer service professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment? Do you find genuine satisfaction in helping injured workers access the medications they need during some of the most challenging moments of their lives? arenaflex is searching for a compassionate, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Remote Weekend Pharmacy Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic and growing team. This is more than just a customer service job — it is an opportunity to make a tangible, meaningful difference in the lives of injured workers while building a rewarding long-term career with an industry leader in workers' compensation benefits management.

For more than four decades, arenaflex has been a pioneering force in the workers' compensation pharmacy benefit management industry, partnering with employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and healthcare providers to ensure that injured employees receive their prescribed medications quickly, accurately, and with the dignity they deserve. As a privately held and rapidly growing organization, we pride ourselves on combining the agility and personal touch of a smaller company with the sophistication, stability, and resources of an industry leader. Our team members are the heart of everything we do, and we are deeply committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing remote workplace where every individual can thrive.

This particular role is ideal for professionals who excel in a structured weekend schedule, enjoy working independently from a home office, and want to be part of a dedicated team that handles complex pharmacy and claims coordination. The position follows a unique four-day, ten-hour schedule that rotates weekends, providing both predictable structure and extended days off during the week. If you are a self-starter with exceptional communication skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a desire to grow within a specialized healthcare niche, we encourage you to read on and discover why arenaflex could be your next great career home.

About the Role: Remote Weekend Pharmacy Customer Service Representative

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will serve as a vital link between injured workers (claimants), pharmacies, insurance adjusters, and our internal clinical and operations teams. Your primary mission will be to ensure that every claimant receives their prescribed medications in a timely, accurate, and compassionate manner, while navigating the often complex landscape of workers' compensation benefits. You will handle a high volume of inbound and outbound communications, manage sensitive claimant and client information across multiple software platforms, and provide world-class service that reflects arenaflex's longstanding reputation for excellence.

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while remaining closely connected to your team through phone, email, and virtual collaboration tools. The role reports to a designated pharmacy supervisor and works on an alternating weekend schedule, typically covering Saturday and Sunday shifts plus two additional weekdays, totaling 40 hours per week. Because our claimants and pharmacy partners depend on consistent weekend coverage, reliability and punctuality are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Claimant Profile Management: Prepare, input, verify, and maintain claimant profiles within the arenaflex pharmacy network, ensuring all data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with internal and client-specific standards.
  • Pharmacy Adjudication Support: Assist pharmacies with the adjudication process for claimant medications, troubleshooting issues related to rejections, prior authorizations, and benefit eligibility to ensure seamless prescription fulfillment.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a primary liaison among client adjusters, network pharmacies, claimants, and internal arenaflex teams, ensuring that all medication benefits are properly assigned and tracked across multiple systems.
  • Reporting and Data Support: Support client needs by generating, reviewing, and delivering accurate reports and data related to claimant medications, utilization patterns, and service performance.
  • Information Management: Manage and update client, claimant, and prescription information across multiple proprietary and third-party software systems with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Adaptability and Process Improvement: Adjust quickly to changing processes, client requirements, and regulatory updates, and proactively contribute ideas to improve workflows and the claimant experience.
  • Customer Inquiries: Answer questions from claimants, adjusters, and pharmacies regarding current or previous medications, benefit coverage, prescription status, and related topics, always maintaining a professional and empathetic tone.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow representatives, pharmacists, supervisors, and other departments to ensure consistent service delivery and to share insights that improve overall team performance.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as needed to support the evolving needs of the business and our clients.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should bring a strong foundation of customer service experience, technical proficiency, and a genuine commitment to helping others. Specifically, we are looking for individuals who possess the following:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of related customer service or telephonic experience is preferred, ideally in a healthcare, pharmacy, insurance, or similarly regulated environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Prior experience working in a remote or virtual capacity is a plus, though not required, provided the candidate demonstrates the discipline and communication skills necessary to thrive in a home-based setting.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations, medical terminology, or workers' compensation processes is highly desirable but not mandatory — we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed.

Computer and Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in the use of computers, multiple software systems, and web-based applications, with the ability to learn new programs quickly and effectively.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Comfortable handling significant volumes of email and phone communications simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home office space.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • An active and attentive listener who can ask the right questions and adjust their approach based on the unique needs of each claimant, adjuster, or pharmacy partner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional grammar, spelling, and editing abilities.
  • Strong understanding of proper telephone etiquette and the ability to convey warmth, professionalism, and empathy in every interaction.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and respond to a variety of documents, including letters, reports, medical notes, and benefit summaries.
  • Comfortable communicating with supervision and team members via email, phone, and virtual meetings, with a proactive approach to escalating issues when appropriate.

  • A genuine desire to help people and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
