About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Intelligent Automation

arenaflex is a global leader in advanced robotics, intelligent material handling, and sustainable packaging solutions. Our mission is to transform the way goods move, are stored, and are packaged by combining cutting‑edge mechatronics, AI‑driven software, and environmentally responsible design. With fulfillment centers spanning continents, arenaflex partners with retailers, manufacturers, and logistics providers to deliver faster, greener, and more reliable operations. If you thrive in an environment where innovation meets real‑world impact, you’ve found your next career home.

Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Virtual Testing & Simulation, you will be at the heart of arenaflex’s Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team. Your work will enable new robotic cells, autonomous transport vehicles, high‑speed sortation systems, and next‑generation packaging materials to be validated in a virtual environment that mirrors real‑world conditions with unparalleled fidelity. By creating and executing sophisticated simulations, you will help ensure that every solution we ship meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability before it ever touches a physical prototype.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high‑fidelity virtual testing platforms: Build simulation environments that incorporate real software stacks, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) components, and material models to emulate end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Lead virtual validation of product specifications: Verify that new robotic cells, packaging technologies, and material handling equipment meet functional, reliability, maintenance, and integration requirements.
  • Define and communicate quality standards: Establish measurable quality parameters for hardware, firmware, control algorithms, and packaging materials, and disseminate them across product development teams.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional simulation campaigns: Work closely with product engineers, QA manual testers, and internal customers (Operations, RME, ACES, Process Engineering, Ops Engineering, WW Design, etc.) to align virtual and physical testing efforts.
  • Analyze and resolve defects: Identify recurring bugs, root‑cause issues, and performance gaps across multiple product lines; propose corrective actions and drive their implementation.
  • Support design‑of‑experiments (DOE) initiatives: Use simulation to rapidly explore design spaces, evaluate trade‑offs, and accelerate decision‑making.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance: Ensure all virtual testing activities adhere to federal, state, and organizational policies, as well as industry standards for safety and environmental impact.
  • Mentor and collaborate: Share expertise with junior engineers, QA manual teams, and cross‑disciplinary stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in large‑scale cross‑functional engineering environments, with a focus on modeling, simulation, testing, integration, or quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fulfillment‑system technologies, including storage equipment, automated sortation, and material handling automation.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) simulations that incorporate real control software and hardware interfaces.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of solving complex, ambiguous problems.
  • Excellent time‑management skills and a history of meeting tight project deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time to business locations, project sites, and customer facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high‑speed manufacturing equipment, robotics, and advanced packaging technologies.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with complex automated material handling equipment and the ability to model their dynamic behavior.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interfacing with engineering, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to initiate, plan, and close projects successfully.
  • Knowledge of sustainability metrics and eco‑design principles applied to packaging and logistics.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Simulation Tools: Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, ROS, Gazebo, or equivalent platforms.
  • Programming Languages: Strong coding skills in Python, C/C++, or Java for test automation and model development.
  • Control Systems: Understanding of PLC programming, motion control, and feedback loop design.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to interpret large data sets, generate statistical reports, and present findings to non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in matrixed organizations, influencing without direct authority, and building consensus across diverse teams.
  • Documentation: Expertise in creating clear, concise test plans, validation reports, and compliance documentation.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. In this role, you will have access to:

  • Advanced training programs on digital twins, AI‑driven simulation, and sustainable design.
  • Mentorship from senior leaders in robotics, supply chain engineering, and product quality.
  • Opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects that directly influence the next generation of fulfillment technology.
  • Cross‑functional rotations that broaden your expertise across hardware, software, and packaging domains.
  • Support for industry certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, PMP, or Robotics certifications).
