[Remote] Business Development Representative
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SkillBit is a Pre-Seed stage startup providing skills assessment and development for corporate cybersecurity teams. They are seeking a full-time remote Business Development Representative responsible for generating qualified leads for the sales team by identifying and contacting new prospects through various communication channels.
Responsibilities
- Create lists of new customer targets using online databases, Internet searches, referrals, and other means
- ‘Clean’ target lists to the extent possible, removing existing customers, duplicate records, out-of-bound geographies, and other disqualifying characteristics
- Input target lists to CRM or other internal sales databases
- Pursue target prospects via all available communication channels
- Network within target companies to reach the right decision-makers
- Qualify prospects to assess potential fit for SkillBit’s products and services
- Vet inbound leads received from SkillBit marketing efforts
- Contact past SkillBit customers to revive business relationships
- Pass qualified leads to the appropriate business unit (BU) sales team for follow-up
- Potentially schedule calls and meetings between qualified prospects and BU salespeople
- Participate in subsequent sales calls as requested by BU salespeople
- Document all interactions in the CRM platform
- Provide activity and output reporting as requested
- Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams
- Provide feedback to colleagues and leadership to improve processes and messaging
- Learn SkillBit products and services
- Compose succinct, effective emails and other outbound communications
- Continuously improve the process and tools used in the role
- Work directly with Account Executives, Marketing team, and AI-based sales & marketing tools
- Attend industry events as a representative of SkillBit (travel up to 30% of the time)
- Help marketing teams build and execute on brand and product-based marketing initiatives
- Aid in production of and promotion of company marketing assets including podcasts, webinars, and other thought leadership
- Co-develop market positioning perspective, including mapping ideal customer profile, segmentation, customer journey, and competitive analysis
Skills
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- 1+ year experience in a similar role
