Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe and edit recorded material, including patient histories, physicals, consult letters, and other medical documents, to produce high-quality, accurate transcripts.
• Verify the accuracy of patient information, including names, identification numbers, and other relevant details.
• Match complaints to diagnoses using medical records, ensuring that reports are accurate and comprehensive.
• Research and correct dictated language using professional reference materials, ensuring that transcripts are concise, accurate, and understandable.
• Identify and flag charts with inconsistencies or errors, notifying the Team Lead for assistance and correction.
• Manage and maintain accurate records, including demographic information and transcription data.
• Meet minimum daily line requirements as directed, working efficiently to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Utilize transcription-specific software products and Microsoft applications to produce and edit transcripts.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent; formal training through an accredited transcription program is highly preferred.
• A minimum of five years of experience as a medical transcriptionist in a hospital, urgent care facility, or medical specialty; experience in a fast-paced, high-volume transcription environment is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices, including formatting and style requirements.
• Excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style, with the ability to produce high-quality, error-free transcripts.
• Proficiency in a range of Microsoft applications and software products, as well as transcription-specific software.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing your workload and meeting deadlines.
• Strong research skills, with the ability to use professional reference materials to correct and verify dictated language.

Preferred candidates will have:
