This is your chance to play a vital role in supporting patients who depend on life-sustaining specialty drug therapies, all from the comfort of your own home.

Position Overview

As a Remote Pharmacy Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as a critical touchpoint for patients navigating complex medication needs. Working from home, you will provide exceptional telephone support, coordinate new and refill prescription orders, and serve as a liaison between patients, insurance providers, healthcare professionals, and internal pharmacy teams. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and find purpose in helping others, this role offers a rewarding career path with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients receiving specialty medications, demonstrating genuine care, empathy, and professionalism in every interaction.
  • Order Coordination: Process new patient medication orders and reorders with precision, including verifying and re-verifying insurance benefits, obtaining prior authorizations, and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Prescription Processing: Accurately translate and enter new prescriptions and refills into the pharmacy information system while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Financial Transactions: Communicate copay amounts to patients, collect payments, and coordinate with billing teams to address accounts receivable issues.
  • Issue Resolution: Screen, identify, and resolve orders with clinical or financial concerns; escalate complex cases to appropriate teams such as pharmacists, prior authorization specialists, or clinical support staff.
  • Insurance Liaison: Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure timely processing of specialty medications and adherence to clinical and financial expectations.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough, accurate records of patient interactions, order status, and resolution outcomes in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance patient experiences, and contribute to team goals and quality metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer service role, with demonstrated success handling a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, and email platforms.
  • One (1) year of computer keyboarding experience with strong typing skills, accuracy, and aptitude.
  • Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Residence within 75 miles of the arenaflex Specialty Pharmacy location at 9310 Southpark Center Loop, Orlando, FL 32819.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior healthcare experience, particularly in pharmacy, insurance, benefits coordination, or medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with specialty medications, prior authorization processes, and pharmacy information systems.
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual customer service environment.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (a plus, but not required).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex, multi-step processes.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
  • Active Listening: Genuine ability to listen attentively, empathize with patient concerns, and respond with care and accuracy.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data entry, order processing, and documentation.
  • Multitasking Ability: Comfortable managing multiple systems and conversations simultaneously while maintaining quality and composure.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and workflows.
  • Tech Savvy: Quick learner with strong aptitude for navigating software applications, databases, and digital tools.
  • Team Collaboration: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
