Position Overview

arenaflex is hiring an experienced Technical Consultant – Customer Onboarding Specialist to support the successful adoption of our CAD and BIM software solutions. This remote role is available to candidates based anywhere in the United States, with a preference for individuals located near Lincoln, Nebraska. As a Technical Consultant, you will be the trusted advisor who guides new arenaflex customers from their very first interaction through confident, expert-level daily use of our platform.

You will blend deep AEC industry knowledge, exceptional teaching ability, and strong customer relationship skills to create onboarding experiences that are memorable, effective, and inspiring. Key Responsibilities

The Technical Consultant at arenaflex performs a dynamic mix of training, consulting, content development, and customer success work. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Onboarding Leadership: Guide new arenaflex customers through the full onboarding journey, from initial purchase and implementation to confident everyday use of our CAD and BIM solutions.
  • Learning Content Development: Create, refine, and maintain a robust library of educational materials, including written guides, video tutorials, on-demand courses, and live training collateral that supports both novice and experienced users.
  • Live Instruction and Training Delivery: Conduct engaging live training sessions, workshops, and webinars that empower customers to master essential features and advanced workflows within our software.
  • AEC Industry Expertise: Apply current and emerging practices in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry to advise customers, whether they are just beginning their BIM journey or are seasoned professionals seeking to elevate their project delivery.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build long-term, trust-based relationships with customer organizations, acting as a strategic advisor who helps them derive maximum value from arenaflex solutions.
  • Needs Analysis and Product Feedback: Leverage deep knowledge of CAD and BIM software applications to understand customer requirements, identify common challenges, and communicate actionable insights to our product and engineering teams.
  • BIM Strategy Advisory: Partner with clients to develop and refine their BIM project delivery strategies, ensuring that arenaflex tools are fully integrated into their workflows and business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, support, and engineering teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and continuous improvement of our onboarding programs.
  • Mentorship and Community Building: Help foster a community of practice among arenaflex customers, encouraging peer learning and shared best practices across the AEC ecosystem.

Essential Qualifications

To thrive in this role at arenaflex, candidates should bring a combination of technical depth, instructional skill, and customer focus. The essential qualifications include:

  • AEC Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of current and emerging practices in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry, with practical experience supporting customers in BIM project delivery.
  • Onboarding Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of the customer onboarding process and the milestones required for an individual to progress from novice to subject matter expert.
  • Training and Teaching Skill: Proven ability to teach and train others, including comfort with live instruction as well as the development of high-quality materials for on-demand learning.
  • CAD and BIM Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of CAD and BIM software applications, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, approachable instruction.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of developing trusted customer relationships and advising organizations on deriving value from software investments.
  • Self-Directed Remote Work: The discipline, organization, and communication habits needed to succeed in a remote, US-based role, including comfort with virtual collaboration tools.

Preferred Qualifications

While not strictly required, the following qualifications will help candidates stand out and accelerate their impact at arenaflex:

  • Prior experience as a Technical Consultant, Customer Success Manager, Implementation Specialist, or similar customer-facing technical role in the AEC software industry.
  • Formal teaching, training, or instructional design experience, including the creation of structured curricula and learning assessments.
  • Familiarity with steel, concrete, or MEP detailing workflows and the day-to-day challenges faced by detailers and fabricators.
  • Experience supporting customers through major software transformations, migrations, or enterprise rollouts.
  • Fluency with modern learning technologies such as learning management systems, screen recording tools, and webinar platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Education, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
