Role Overview

This remote, live‑chat enabled position is based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and offers a competitive hourly rate of $35. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product owners, data engineers, and agile technology squads—to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and analytics solutions that power arenaflex’s VoC platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Integration & Modeling: Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop scalable data models that support both batch and real‑time analytics.
  • Survey Architecture: Design and implement end‑to‑end survey data flows, from ingestion in the arenaflex Survey Platform (formerly Qualtrics) to storage in the enterprise data lake.
  • Big Data Processing: Leverage Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark, PySpark, and Python to process large‑volume datasets, ensuring high performance and data quality.
  • Metric Definition & Standardization: Create and maintain a library of standardized metrics and KPIs that enable consistent reporting across all business units.
  • Automation & Tooling: Build automated ETL pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring dashboards to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
  • Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work closely with product managers, agile coaches, and technology partners to deliver incremental improvements in two‑week sprint cycles.
  • Insight Generation: Conduct deep‑dive analyses, develop visualizations, and present findings to senior leadership to drive strategic decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data quality, processing speed, and analytical capabilities, championing best practices across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (Hive, HDFS, MapReduce) and Spark/PySpark.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and shell scripting for data manipulation and automation.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining data models for large‑scale analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of survey methodology, data collection, and VoC analytics.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, delivering incremental value through regular sprint cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French or local languages is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
