[Remote] Software Engineer, Axon 911
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Axon is on a mission to protect life and is seeking backend-focused software engineers for their Prepared team. The role involves tackling engineering challenges related to audio/video processing and generative AI, contributing to the development of a modern 911 platform that enhances public safety.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to architect and launch new user-facing features and products
- Design and drive initiatives to improve the availability and reliability of our backend systems
- Continuously help improve the engineering processes and tools that allow us to scale the codebase and team
- Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers
- Travel occasionally to support customer deployments and onsite implementations
Skills
- 3+ years of software engineering industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in or eagerness to learn our backend stack (Ruby on Rails, Golang)
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Our team is leaning into agentic software development workflows, and we're looking for engineers who have experimented with—or are enthusiastic about embracing—AI-augmented ways of building software
