[Remote] Telecom Cloud Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OXIO is seeking a skilled Telecom Cloud Engineer with strong experience in telecommunications and cloud-native infrastructure. The role involves implementing and optimizing telecom network functions in virtualized environments, collaborating with vendors and internal teams, and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of telecom network operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute full lifecycle implementation of telecom network functions in cloud-native environments
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and cloud providers
- Manage design, deployment, acceptance, operations, documentation, and support activities
- Ensure smooth handover from deployment to operations with proper knowledge transfer
- Work across full mobile network architecture and network elements (NEs)
- Support technologies across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA)
- Manage core network functions including:
- Packet Core
- IMS Core
- Charging & Policy
- Registration & Subscriber Repositories
- Apply deep knowledge of telecom protocols and architectures
- Implement and maintain FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security) frameworks
- Deploy and operate telecom infrastructure in cloud-native environments
- Work with platforms including AWS, Azure, OpenShift, and VMware
- Configure and manage infrastructure templates (e.g., Heat, YAML)
- Ensure adherence to deployment standards and best practices
- Continuously improve deployment and operational processes
- Partner with R&D and Engineering teams to automate workflows
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability
- Support development of infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in network architecture, wireless networking, and virtualization
- Strong experience with cloud networking and infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, OpenShift, VMware)
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production support experience
- Familiarity with AI fundamentals and their application in network operations is a plus
- Relevant technical certifications are an asset
- AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes certifications
- Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent)
- Telecom vendor certifications
