[Remote] AI Engineer (Unpaid Internship)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Seagulls Labs is focused on creating a skills verification and training app layer for AI. The AI Engineer Intern will assist in building early systems for an AI-powered skills verification platform, requiring a mix of technical ability and creative problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Build AI agents that support skill training, feedback generation, submission review, and verification workflows
- Develop AI-powered applications using Python, JavaScript, and LLM-based tools
- Help create systems that evaluate, score, and organize user-submitted skill evidence
- Test fitness and exercise-related product flows through real activity check-ins and feedback loops
- Create backend logic and APIs for profiles, submissions, evaluations, verification, progress tracking, and scoring
- Improve AI feedback quality through prompt engineering and structured AI outputs
- Collaborate with the founding team to turn product ideas into working prototypes
Skills

- Current habit of performing 3–5 physical activities per week
- Experience or interest in AI agent development

- Strong understanding of prompt engineering
- Ability to work with structured AI outputs
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, APIs, or backend systems is a plus
- Interest in consumer AI, fitness technology, or skill-development platforms
