[Remote] Full Stack Engineer (Geospatial & Vision Systems)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Safe Pro Group Inc. is a company focused on humanitarian demining and defense through advanced aerial mapping and AI systems. They are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to build software that supports operators in the field by making geospatial and AI-generated data accessible and reliable. The role involves working on computer vision, geospatial infrastructure, and backend services to deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Productize and Scale: Take 3D reconstruction and computer vision research prototypes and translate them into stable, production-grade pipelines
- Backend & Data Architecture: Design and optimize scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python and Django
- Frontend Mapping UI: Build highly interactive, performant mapping features and dashboards using React, TypeScript, and MapLibre
- AI/ML Collaboration: Partner closely with ML researchers to deploy, monitor, and scale object detection models in production
- End-to-End Ownership: Own features from initial architectural drafting to cloud deployment, monitoring, and iteration
Skills
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production-grade web applications
- Strong backend experience in Python (Django/FastAPI) coupled with capability in frontend React and TypeScript
- Practical experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes) and orchestrating async data queues (Celery/Redis/RabbitMQ)
- True startup mindset: Pride in end-to-end ownership, high velocity, and a desire to work on a tight knit team
- Experience with MapLibre GL, OpenLayers, Leaflet or other mapping libraries
- Experience deploying or optimizing computer vision models (YOLO, CNNs) or handling 3D point cloud/mesh generation
- Experience handling geospatial or mapping data (familiarity with PostGIS, GDAL, Shapely, or similar GIS tooling)
- Background or strong interest in remote sensing, aerospace, or humanitarian tech
- Portfolio or GitHub
