[Remote] Senior Fabric Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Precision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer with expertise in enterprise data engineering and Azure cloud services. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies for enterprise-scale analytics and governance.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement enterprise-grade Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse solutions , leveraging OneLake, Fabric Data Engineering, Fabric Warehouses, and Fabric Data Pipelines to support scalable analytics workloads
- Design and develop robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory capabilities, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Synapse Analytics for batch and incremental processing
- Build scalable distributed data processing frameworks using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Fabric notebooks for structured, semi-structured, and streaming data
- Develop modern Lakehouse architecture (Medallion – Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) with optimized storage and data modeling strategies
- Implement enterprise data ingestion from multiple sources including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), APIs, SQL databases, ERP/CRM systems, flat files, and cloud applications into Fabric OneLake
- Design and optimize Fabric Warehouse and Power BI semantic models , ensuring high-performance analytics and reporting
- Develop dimensional data models (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and implement data modeling best practices for enterprise BI solutions
- Implement performance tuning strategies including partitioning, indexing, query optimization, workload management, and storage optimization within Fabric and Synapse environments
- Enforce data governance, security, RBAC, and compliance standards using Microsoft Fabric governance features, sensitivity labels, lineage tracking, and access controls
- Integrate Power BI datasets, semantic models, and Direct Lake connectivity with Fabric Lakehouse for real-time analytics enablement
- Lead legacy data platform modernization and migration initiatives from on-prem SQL Server, SSIS, traditional data warehouses, or Hadoop ecosystems to Microsoft Fabric architecture
- Implement DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Git integration, Fabric deployment pipelines, and version control strategies across DEV/QA/PROD environments
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data architects, BI developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and analytics-ready enterprise data solutions
Skills
- 10+ years of expertise in enterprise data engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric (Fabric Lakehouse, OneLake, Data Pipelines, Fabric Warehouse)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Deep knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and Medallion design patterns
- Strong proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, Spark SQL
- Programming expertise in Python / PySpark
- Experience integrating and optimizing Power BI datasets and semantic models
- Strong understanding of data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema)
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimization
- Hands-on experience with enterprise data ingestion and transformation
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
