[Remote] Accounting Manager

Treaty Oak Financial is an innovative accounting firm that partners with growth-oriented companies by providing outsourced accounting and fractional finance services. They are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee month-end closes for multiple clients, lead a team of accountants, and enhance operational systems while delivering high-quality accounting services.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close for 5-15 clients - review reconciliations, prepare adjusting entries, and issue draft financials
- Present income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow results to clients with clear insight on performance, margins, burn, and runway
- Coordinate tax and compliance touchpoints with the clients’ tax accountants - sales tax filings, 1099 prep, year-end audit requests, and external CPA liaison
- Drive ad-hoc projects: system migrations, new-entity setups, and KPI dashboards to enable our clients as they scale
- Supervise and coach Staff and Senior Accountants: set priorities, review their work, and build a culture of continuous learning
- Strengthen controls and processes: document workflows, automate routines in QBO, Ramp, Netsuite, and Bill.com. Flag risk areas early
- Model our service culture: communicate proactively, set clear expectations, and jump in when a client has an urgent need
Skills
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–2 years leading people or complex engagements
- Deep working knowledge of US GAAP; strong practical command of QBO, Gusto, and Ramp/Bill.com. NetSuite is a bonus
- Proven track record managing multiple clients or business units in a fast-moving environment
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills: comfortable with lookups, pivot tables, and lightweight modeling
- Clear, confident communicator who can translate accounting-speak into plain English for founders and operators
- Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable making judgment calls when guidance is ambiguous
- CPA or MBA preferred (not required)
