[Remote] DevOps Engineer III
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PTR Global is seeking a DevOps Engineer III to support their Machine Learning platform products. The role involves managing Kubernetes clusters, performing cloud infrastructure tasks, and handling database administration to ensure high availability and performance for internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage Kubernetes clusters by performing improvements and regular maintenance
- Perform cloud infrastructure operational tasks
- Perform Database administration tasks including migration, instrumenting of telemetry, performance monitoring, cost monitoring and consolidation
- CI/CD-focused projects that include implementing features for GitOps + software lifecycle tooling and processes
Skills
- 5 plus years of experience
- 3 to 5 years experience with Kubernetes
- 3 to 5 years experience with AWS
- 3 to 5 years experience in Database administration: Postgres, RDS (eg. Aurora)
- 3 years experience in Python
- Operational Experience with cloud-based service infrastructure (DNS, load balancing, ingress, telemetry and logging)
- Manage Kubernetes clusters by performing improvements and regular maintenance
- Perform cloud infrastructure operational tasks
- Perform Database administration tasks including migration, instrumenting of telemetry, performance monitoring, cost monitoring and consolidation
- CI/CD-focused projects that include implementing features for GitOps + software lifecycle tooling and processes
- Kubernetes (configuration, operations, deployment) and related technologies: Helm, ArgoCD, GitOps
- SQL database administration
- Python + Bash scripting
- Does not regularly report status, request guidance or otherwise drive to goal
- Poor organization, communication, focus
- Poor coding ability
- Open to remote workers
- Ideally, we want to work with a person in the Pacific time zone, same as the team
